From 5 to 22 July Denis was in Sydney where he participated in the Sydney International Piano Competition. Despite the fact that this time Denis did not manage to compete for the main prizes for many reasons - apart from the obvious competition reasons such as subjectivity, high competitiveness, as well as unusual program and, unfortunately, the necessity to perform with a cold and fever, Denis nevertheless won the Prize "Best Performance of 20th-Century Works" (for the performance of Frank Bridge: 2 Solos for Piano H.54 and Boris Lyatoshinsky: 5 Preludes Op.44)
